Village of Staro Jelezare The village is located in the south-central Bulgaria.It is a part of Saedinenie Municipality. Only 38km north is the second biggest city in Bulgaria – Plovdiv with centuries-old culture and rich traditions. 13 km away is situated the famous resort with mineral springs – Hisarya. 37 km from the village is the town of Karlovo, from where begin the longest mountain in Bulgaria – Old Mountain. You can go skiing in one of the most popular winter resorts in Bulgaria – Pamporovo. Only 47 km away is the town of Koprivshtitsa – famous with the houses of the Bulgarian national revival, museums and with rich culture and history. 11km from the village is located the village of Starosel, which from soon is “A Thracian religious center”, because of the excavations found there. 26 kilometers away from the village is situated a highway of Trakia where after one hour driving will come to the capital city of SOFIA. The hamlet is very well developed, providing with a medical service, post office, mobile service, shops and cafes.Saedinenie Municipality is situated in the Thracian Valley; it borders on the foot of Sredna Gora Mountain to the north. The municipal center is immediately next to Trakia highway. It is at a distance of 22 km from Plovdiv city. The territory of the Municipality is traversed by the Plovdiv - Panagurishte railway line. The flat terrain, the availability of good network of canals and underground water are conducive to the growing of intensive crops. There are two centuries-old oak trees on the land of the Municipality: a common oak tree (Sabev oak) of over 200 years of age, and a common oak tree in Tseretelevo village. The churches Saint Atanassios, Saint Dimitriy and Saint Petka have been declared monuments of culture by UNESCO. In the wetlands of Pyassachnik Dam Lake an extremely rare and attractive bird species lives - the Red-necked goose. According to the Sixth International Counting of the White Stork Saedinenie ranks among the first areas in terms of number of nests with living birds.
